Volkswagen AG (VOW)’s Audi has reached an agreement with Investindustrial to buy Ducati Motor Holding SpA for about 860 million euros ($1.1 billion) including debt.
Volkswagen Chairman Ferdinand Piech has long coveted Ducati for its expertise on design and light engines. This rumor is also reinforced by Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera that wrote that an accord between Ducati and Audi was expected to be signed soon, citing no sources.
