The GP weekend at Silverstone has come to an end for the NGM Mobile Forward Racing Team with 4 points from Alex De Angelis. Even though the rider from San Marino still struggled with problems with the front and yet managed to take home points, even if his expectations were to be able to be in the top five.
Yuki Takahashi on the other hand seems to have had a difficult weekend, finishing in 25th position in this sixth round of the season. The Japanese rider has made considerable improvements in his lap times that let the team hop for a more positive weekend in the up coming Assen GP in less than two weeks.
Alex De Angelis - 11th
“A disappointing race today. We haven’t been able to improve what we had done during the free practices. We did register faster laps during the race as did the other riders so the gap remained the same. Up to now the season has been a bit disappointing and we will be having a meeting with both the technical and the managing directors to understand in which direction we will be working from now on.”
Yuki Takahashi - 25th
“From yesterday to today I have felt a big improvement and this morning, I have improved my lap time by 1 second and a half faster than yesterday. Also during the race today I was able to go faster, my lap times were very constant and I felt very good but the other guys also improved too. The problem was that it took us a little of time to find the good setting and was a bit too late. I feel we have now found the good setting and I want to be at Assen, and there we will see.”
Pietro Caprara – Moto2 Technical Director
“For Alex it was a difficult race. At the beginning he had a really good start because he was in the front group with the first 7 fastest riders but after 5 laps he started struggling with the front setting. The front guys also improved their lap time. He had problems during the race with corner speed and the entering speed, which did not carry compared to the other riders. For Yuki, he made an improvement after the warm up session; his lap time was 1 second faster than yesterday. His race results were not good because even though he improved considerably, during the race the gap was too big and we are now looking into making some changes technically that will allow both riders to improve for Assen.”
