Karel Abraham reached reached 16th time at the opening day of the Grand Prix of The Americas at the new circuit at Austin, finished fourth between CRT bikes. Abraham lost 5,380 seconds to the fastest rider Marc Márquez and 0,551 second to the closest rider Andrea Iannone on Ducati.
Karel Abraham:
"he track is really interesting but not so easy. Some sections are really hard. All of us had troubles with the track slippery surface in the morning session. It got better in the afternoon and finally we could really ride. That´s seen in the times which are – all riders are much faster compared to the morning. We have few problems to deal with. Our goal for Saturday is to accelerate at least for one more second. Bike is still sliding and we had the lowest top speed of all. We don´t know why yet, but we have to find it out. There´s one long straight at this circuit and because of low top speed I am getting important loss."

"We did a pretty good job today. The track was dirty and slippery in the morning, but it got better in the afternoon and Karel could repeatedly improve his best lap times. We´ve got still problem with acceleration and compared to the Espargaro we´re loosing the most of the time on it. I hope the track will be cleaner on Saturday and I hope we can speed up further two seconds."
