Alvaro Bautista marked as the ninth fastest rider on Le Mans MotoGP practice. His best lap was 1’ 34” 739 . His teammate, Bryan Starring on CRT set 1’ 37” 878 on 22nd position
Alvaro Bautista (9th 1’ 34” 739 )
“Maybe today could have gone better but we had some problems getting the bike turned in the hard braking zones this morning. We worked hard to find a solution this afternoon and even though I am not completely satisfied we have some data and some more ideas to try tomorrow. We also need to work with the electronics to improve the traction control and find more speed out of the corners. If we can do that I am confident we can close the gap to the guys in front of us and secure a good position on the grid.”
Bryan Staring (22nd 1’ 37” 878)
“It hasn't been a fantastic day for guys because we had a few problems with the electronics that held us back. It was a shame because I really liked the track even though it is new to me and I think we could have gone a lot faster. I have to say the guys in the team did a great job to find the source of the problem, which was with a cable, but there was only a few minutes left of the session. We will keep working tomorrow and I am sure we will manage to improve our position. ”
Fausto Gresini
“The top guys are all very close so the most important thing today is the pace rather than the position and we are there. Obviously we still have some work to do and we will try our best to put Alvaro in a position to fight at the front. I am confident, even though the characteristics of this circuit don't particularly suit Alvaro's riding style. Staring had a technical problem on top of the fact that this is a new track for him but the guys fixed it and we are now looking forward to seeing how Bryan goes tomorrow at a track he seems to really like.”
