The Tech 3 Racing Team is delighted to announce it has reached an agreement with talented young German rider Marcel Schrotter to race the Mistral 610 machine in the 2014 Moto2 World Championship.

The 20-year-old brings a wealth of World Championship experience to Herve Poncharal’s French-based squad having raced in the 125cc, Moto3 and Moto2 classes since his GP debut back in 2008.

Schrotter has shown why he is one of the brightest young talents to emerge out of Germany in recent history with a series of impressive performances in the ultra-competitive Moto2 category in 2013.

His consistent form has seen him score points in eight races so far this season, with a best of 10th in Jerez, while he delivered a standout performance in qualifying at Mugello to claim a career first front row start.

The signing of Schrotter and the renewal of British rider Danny Kent’s deal for 2014 at the recent Silverstone round re-affirms Tech 3 Racing’s commitment to helping develop young talent on the biggest stage in world motorcycle racing.

The Tech 3 Moto2 project continues to have close links to the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 MotoGP Team and Kent and Schrotter will be given maximum commitment and support to try and help them follow in the footsteps of Bradley Smith, who graduated to the premier class through the highly respected Tech 3 set-up.
