As ambassador of the foundation Against Cancer Scott Deroue and 7 year old Owen Laponder carried out the opening ceremony of the renewed Kartcentre Lelystad. With a number of laps, one in the kart, the other on a bike, they inaugurated the track.
After the two racers were flown in by helicopter and cut the tape, they opened the throttle. Team owner Roelof Waninge didn’t allow Deroue to ride his new Kalex KTM, as the brand new track was still very dirty and the team will be testing in Jerez from Tuesday on. Therefore the machine was shown inside – much safer.
The bike of Deroue has orange accents, the one of his team mate Ana Carrasco has a pink scheme. She will unveil her bike Sunday evening at the Ascari circuit in Ronda.
Deroue will be present all weekend at the Kart fair in Lelystad.
