Federal Oil Gresini Preview Argentina Moto2

After having been in the lead for most of the Grand Prix of the Americas, Xavier Siméon and the team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 arrive in Argentina determined to turn into a great result the great potential showed so far.

The third round of the season will be held this weekend on the new Termas de Rio Hondo circuit, which debuts this year in the Moto2 World Championship calendar. All riders - except Esteve Rabat and Nico Terol, who have spent there two days of testing last July - will deal with an unknown layout, with plenty of fast corners.

Just like Siméon, also Baldassari - Team Gresini Moto2 - despite having put on display excellent performance, is unfortunately still at zero points in the standings , after two falls in the first two Grands Prix of the year. The goal of the young Italian remains therefore to conclude his first Moto2 race and thus collect his first points, a goal within his reach.

Xavier Simeon
“I've seen some pictures of the circuit, and at first glance Termas de Rio Hondo seems a pretty fast track, although of course at this time is difficult to get a precise idea. It’s always exciting to discover how the bike works on a new track, so I’m looking forward to getting back in the saddle. We will start the first free practice session with the necessary calm, but our goal remains clear: in Texas we have been in the lead for many laps, so here we will try to stay again among the fastest riders in order to get a good result. I think that even on a new circuit the values will remain more or less the same”.

Lorenzo Baldassarri
“In Argentina we will all start from scratch and for me this thing is positive: in the first stages of the weekend we will have a more levelled situation compared to the other races. I really want to bounce back after these first two races, which ended badly, so I'm looking forward to discover if I can be fast also on this track. The work carried out during the practice in Austin has been very fruitful: it’s been hard, but after two difficult days we were able to solve our set-up problems in time for the race. An experience that will definitely be useful for this Grand Prix and for the rest of the season”.
