Johann Zarco back to work for the Indianapolis Grand Prix

Johann Zarco Mugello 2012

After the demanding session of three races in a row between June and July, the Moto2 World Championship took advantage of not racing in Laguna Seca to have a little break. This was used by the riders to relax and undergo some training while teams sent machines and equipment directly to the States, where next Sunday will take place the 10th GP of the season at the magical track of Indianapolis.
As usual, the MotoGP teams will ride on part of the famous track that hosts the 500 mile race and this will for sure be an incentive to all riders.
Team JiR's riders Johann Zarco and Eric Granado are eager to get back on their MotoBI machines after an intense training period meant to drive them to the final part of the season, where they will be called to do their own best to follow the growth program they have and pursue the targets they're set to.

Gianluca Montiron – JiR Team Principal
"Indianapolis for the unusual Tarmac, Brno for its technicalities, they are two important tracks for the follow up of the season and to determine the choices that has to be made. This year saw the JiR Team involved in a relevant investment for supporting two young riders, I used the summer break to make a first balance about the job we've done so far and according to the support that I'll get I'll decide for the prosecution."

Johann Zarco – JiR Moto2 Team Rider
"Right now I'm off to the airport and looking forward to racing at Indianapolis. During the summer break I had time to enjoy a week off and then we were training again on my four-stroke road bike. We could also think about the season so far and think about the second half of the season ahead. Now the target is to get to the podium. We saw in Mugello when I want I can do it and run at that pace, so I have to work on being consistent and focused like I was in Mugello. I've never had good results at Indianapolis, so it will be good to think about the race and prepare as well as possible. If we watch the races from last year we can see the Moto2 bikes were sliding as the track was hard on tyres, so we will work on this with the team and try and be very fast in qualifying to make a good place on grid then work on consistency of lap time on my MotoBI."

Eric Granado – JiR Moto2 Team Rider
"My expectations for the GP of Indianapolis are very good indeed, during the holidays I really prepared myself physically and watched many videos of races on the Indy track. As I've never been there, it will be essential to adapt quickly to the circuit, so I will try before training take many laps around the circuit, either walking or with a scooter, to memorize the route and also on Friday and Saturday with my MotoBI. During the weekend I will try to learn and evolve at every lap and it will be very important because it is that I must to do! I will talk a lot with my telemetry guys and with the chief mechanic regarding to the references that we have of the track in the last year and I hopefully with my team, we will get a great result in this race."
