
The heavy rain, wind and low temperatures characterized the first free practice sessions in Misano, but the Italian duo was ready to fight and wrap up a positive day 1.
Romano Fenati (Team Italia FMI FTR Honda#5) was 14th after FP1 (1'58"407) but took advantage of slick tyres with a few minutes to go and posted the best time of the day with 1'49"956, becoming the first and only rider to break the 1'50 wall ahead of Vinales (+1"032), Folger (+1"123) and Calia (+2"630).
Alessandro Tonucci (Team Italia FMI FTR Honda#19) quickly found the feeling on his home track. Among the best riders on a wet track, he closed the day with a 1'54"828 in 11th position.
Micheal Ruben Rinaldi, Team Italia Moto3 rider in the Italian championship, ended FP2 in 29th position as wild-card.
