Today concluded a difficult and unfortunate weekend for the NGM Mobile Forward Racing, with Yuki Takahashi not getting in the points and losing Alex De Angelis in the first lap of the race.
For the Japanese rider the qualifying session and the weather condition change have made it harder for him to find the right race pace. For the rider from San Marino it was Nakagami´s action that sealed his fate by first pushing him off the track and later on hitting him with his bike causing him to crash.
Yuki Takahashi – 23rd
“It has been a tough race specially because we have tried many different things. It has all been a learning process in order to find the right solution for this very complicated race. It was difficult to maintain the position but it has been important to do so to be able to collect data and keep working.”
Alex de Angelis – Not Classified
“We have chosen to use a combination of tires that we have never tried before during the free practices this weekend and that is why we did two laps with them during the warm up before the race. I didn’t feel any chatter and therefore I started the race aggressively. I gained a few positions but then Nakagami made me go long and later his bike took me out. I am sorry because the bike had the right setup, such a shame.”

“Complicated comeback race for Yuki. He fought to maintain his position but starting the race so far down on grid makes it harder to find a good pace because of traffic. Given today’s temperature he chose to race with hard tires. Alex on the other hand was satisfied with the modifications made during the morning warm up but bad luck struck again during the first lap of the race. He could have been among the top contenders if only the riders had been calmer at the beginning of the race in order to avoid mistakes like the one Nakagami made today.”
