Ben Spies's Ignite Pramac Racing Team Ducati Desmosedici GP13 Unveiled at Wrooom

Last September Ducati Corse announced that Ben Spies had been signed to race for the Pramac Racing Team in the 2013 MotoGP World Championship. Last night, the American’s Ducati Desmosedici GP13 was officially unveiled at Wrooom 2013, the traditional Press Ski Meeting in Madonna di Campiglio that symbolically launches the forthcoming MotoGP season.

Ducati has a long relationship with Pramac Team Principal Paolo Campinoti, whose squad is now factory-supported. Under the guidance of Team Manager Francesco Guidotti, Pramac Racing will play a key role in the development of the Ducati Desmosedici GP13, and Ben Spies’ experience and talent will be essential to the project. In addition to being a winner and six-time podium finisher in MotoGP, the Texan won the 2009 Superbike World Championship and is a three-time AMA Superbike Champion.

Spies’ Ignite Pramac Racing Team Ducati Desmosedici GP13 prominently features the logo of new sponsor Ignite Asset Management, a New York-based, alternative-asset-management firm led by a group of hedge-fund industry veterans and supported by private investors with a passion for motorsports.

Hayden: The future looks very good

Nicky Hayden said on the Ducati's press conference at the Wrooom 2013, that Gabriele Del Torchio, the Ducati Motor Holding CEO have many ideal to help the Ducati on MotoGP. For Hayden this gonna be a good future for him and Ducati. 

Nicky Hayden also said that the main problem for the 2013 is still the same as 2012, understeer and front end issue on cornering. The 2013 bike will not much different than 2012.

In addition to seeing the faces that we already know, this is a good opportunity to start building relationships with the people we'll be working with this season. From a technical point of view, the new management hasn't stepped into an easy situation, but they're very motivated to reach our goals. I've met with Mr Gobmeier, and he strikes me as a very intelligent person, with many ideas about where he can help. It's a completely fresh start for us, and although there's clearly a big challenge ahead of us, it's also an exciting one. I'm really looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish. The future looks very good."

Dovizioso: The competition is very strong, but I believe we can achieve this aim

New Ducati's rider Andrea Dovizioso arrived at the Wrooom 2013, the traditional Press Ski Meeting that takes place at Madonna di Campiglio. On his press conference to the media, Dovizioso talked a lot about the main goal on Ducati. 

Ducati needs to reduce the gap to the other factory team, Yamaha and Honda. It's difficult but not impossible. Dovizioso said that the first year will be challenging and he should work harder.

"It's an honour to be here at Wrooom. It's all organized perfectly, and it's a great opportunity to get to know the Ducati staff better and meet many new friends. I was convinced to join Ducati in my first meetings with Filippo Preziosi because he made it clear that there are interesting plans for the future and that we can start to build something important together. We have the help of budget, technology and passion, all the ingredients necessary to attain our goals. Obviously, it will be up to us, the technicians and riders, to take the right path on where to improve the bike. If we work well, I'm certain that it will be possible in the future to fight for wins and the title. The competition is very strong, but I believe we can achieve this aim. It won't happen right away, but we can do it. There's no magic wand, so we have to-and we want to-keep our feet on the ground and work methodically. If it's possible to achieve good results, I'm sure that we will. The first year will be challenging, but we mustn't allow ourselves to be pressured to immediately get good results."
