Jerez 2011 has left many memories for MotoGP fans. Disaster wet race on 2011 was placed Jorge Lorenzo, the 2010 MotoGP World Champion, on 1st podium. Dani Pedrosa and Nicky Hayden were on the rest of podium.
5 riders didn't finished on that race. Started with an incident between Valentino Rossi and Casey Stoner on lap 7, Stoner the pole man crashed after Rossi over take and slip on the turn 1. Rossi still can continue the race, but not for Stoner. After the race, Rossi came to Stoner's box for an apology.
Marco Simoncelli who lead the race with 2.6 seconds gap from Lorenzo, crashed after a high side on turn 1. Supersic couldn't continue the race and Lorenzo lead the race from this point until finish.
Randy DePuniet had a engine failure 10 laps before checkered flag, while Karel Abraham also crashed, but Abraham still continue the race and finished on 7th place. A few lap before finish line, Yamaha's Ben Spies was made a good progress and jump to 2nd place. Unfortunately he was crashed 3 laps before finish line on turn 5.
Tech3 Yamaha's Colin Edward missed the podium chance on this race. After over take Hayden and got his 3rd place, Edwards couldn't continue the race just on the last lap.
