Pramac Racing Team Preview MotoGP Motegi

Andrea Iannone MotoGP Phillip Island 2013

The build-up to the Japanese Grand Prix weekend is currently characterized by a Typhoon warning. After having already been a victim of such an event only a few days ago, Japan is preparing to face the threat of Typhoon Francisco which, although currently category 2, remains quite energetic and dangerous, and over the next few days could hit the Japanese archipelago, reaching the area of Motegi as well with winds up to 45 knots and gusts of 55-60 knots. This would also mean not being able to use all the temporary structures set up in the paddock at the Twin Ring Motegi, which should obviously be removed in time, in order to avoid more damage and further risks. While waiting to receive further news, MotoGP and its protagonists are preparing to compete in the final leg of the overseas tripleheader and also the penultimate round of this year’s MotoGP World Championship.

The track is located in the Kanto district and surrounded by forests within which the river Nakagawa flows, and it is named Twin Ring Motegi because it consists of two different circuits, a long 2.493 km oval (1.548 miles) and a of 4.801 km road track (2.983 miles) that with its long straights and tight corners, has hosted the World Championship since 1999. The structure also includes a safe riding school, dirt track and go karts, hotel, restaurants, shops and spaces for events.

Yonny Hernandez is now ready for a new adventure aboard the DesmosediciGP13 with which he will face the Japanese track for the first time on a MotoGP bike. Hoping that the slight fracture to his right hand won’t slow him down too much, the Ignite Pramac Racing Team rider is determined to immediately put into practice what he has learnt so far and to increase confidence with his bike.

Andrea Iannone has a special feeling with this circuit as in 2009, his last year in the 125 class, he stepped onto the top of the podium, an experience that he repeated two years later aboard a Moto2. This year instead he will ride his DesmosediciGP13 for the first time and he is ready to get the best possible results with the Energy TI Pramac Racing Team, after the constant progress made and the results obtained in particular in the last part of the season.

Yonny Hernandez - Ignite Pramac Racing Team
“Unfortunately at Phillip Island I injured my hand, but I have already been to the Clinica Mobile, and they told me that it is improving. Tomorrow I'll have some injections anyway but it's going well. These days I’ve heard a lot of people speaking about the typhoon, I don’t know if it’s true or not but, I think it’s most likely we will have the chance to try the bike in the rain, and I hope it goes better than last week. I like this circuit, it is very fast and I would like to do a good race.”

Andrea Iannone – Energy T.I. Pramac Racing Team
“These days there’s a lot of talk about the weather, but I really have no idea so I can’t say. What I do know, is that here we would like to start from where we left off in Australia, to continue and improve what has been done. I'd like to get a good weekend’s start and maybe have another good race like the one on Sunday. And if it rains or not we’ll face it, because we'll all be in the same situation. I continue to be positive and I hope, if I had to sum things up now, to have less injuries next year. In any case, it’s okay, now I want to concentrate on the demanding weekend that awaits us, and then we’ll have a little rest before Valencia.”
