With no time to take a breath and just five days after the challenging race at Assen the LCR Honda Team follows the Championship to Sachsenring for this weekend's Grand Prix of Germany. Stefan Bradl has been looking forward to his home race ever since it was announced he was joining the MotoGP class.
The 2011 Moto2 World Champion is certain to boost the crowd, which traditionally is one of the largest of the year and thanks to his continuing improvement, the home fans will have someone to root for. Before saddling up his Honda machine in tomorrow’s first free practice, the 22-year-old German rider together with his father Helmut and former MotoGP riders like Anton Mang and Phil Read lined up in the starting grid for a special photo opportunity celebrating the 85th Anniversary of the circuit. For the occasion LCR Team made a special surprise to former rider Helmut Bradl unveiling his HB Honda RS250cc replica bike on the grid and the Bradl’s duo enjoyed a short drive out.
Stefan: “Doubtless this weekend will be very special for me. My family, my friends and my fans will be there to support me and this makes me more motivated ahead the race. I am looking forward to this weekend because the crowd will be unbelievable. The track is a bit too small for a MotoGP bike, but there are some good parts especially the last one. After the last race in Assen we know we are capable to fight with the second group and this remains our target for the next races including Sachsenring.”
Helmut: “I think that my biggest success is that I still fit my leather after 21 years. It was a special feeling to be on the grid next to my son and I want to thank the Team, especially Lucio, for this incredible surprise”.
