For the third time this season in the Moto2 Championship Yuki Takahashi finishes the race in sixteenth position, leaving him out of the top15 and from taking home his first points in this fluctuating 2012 season.
With Alex De Angelis out for this race due to yesterday’s crash, the Japanese rider was the only NGM Mobile Froward Racing Moto2 rider to fight for the Team this weekend. Unfortunately the qualifying position obtained by the Japanese rider yesterday conditioned his race today, in which he managed to gain 12 positions.
Yuki Takahashi – 16th
“During the race I had a good pace and a good setting but the problem was that on Saturday I had a series of problems that made me qualify at the back of the grid. The setting we used today was the one we had in Malaysia and it seems to be the right base for this bike, I will probably start off at Valencia with this setting. This track is not one of my favourite but I could have been in the point today. We are now going to Valencia and it is a track that I enjoy a lot, that makes me hopeful for the next race.”
Pietro Caprara – Moto2 Technical Director
“Yet again Yuki has finished the race really close to the points. He has made a big step today and you can see it in his lap times, he was a second faster today during the race than yesterday during qualifying. His race pace was good, it is a pity that he wasn’t able to be in the Top15.”
