Alvaro Bautista made the most of just half an hour of dry track time on the first day of post-season testing at Valencia, setting the fastest lap of the day. Rain and low temperatures for the rest of the day saw the Team Go & Fun Honda Gresini rider stuck in the garage but his five dry laps at least provided the opportunity for the media and fans to see the new Team Go & Fun Honda Gresini colours that will be on display in 2013.

“As forecast the rain came this morning and interrupted the programme we had planned for the test. Fortunately we were out on track as early as we were allowed so that meant I could get a few decent laps in and set the best time of the day. We did the maximum we could in the minimum time available and at least were able to show off the new Go & Fun colours that Team Honda Gresini will be using for the next three seasons. Hopefully the weather improves tomorrow but unfortunately the forecast is not very reassuring. The only positive thing could be the higher temperatures which should mean we can get some more laps in even if it's in the wet.”
