Esteve Rabat (Pons 40 HP Tuenti) lapped quickest in Saturday's 20-minute Moto2 warm up session for the Commercialbank Grand Prix of Qatar. The Spaniard, who will start Sunday's race from the third row of the grid, led team-mate Pol Espargaró and pole man Thomas Lüthi (Interwetten Paddock) in the top three.
Andrea Iannone (Speed Master), who will start from the front row, and Takaaki Nakagami (Italtrans Racing Team) completed the top five in the short session, with Mike di Meglio (S/Master Speed Up), Bradley Smith (Tech 3 Racing), Julián Simón (Blusens Avintia), Claudio Corti (Italtrans Racing Team) and Simone Corsi (Came Iodaracing Project) in the top 10.
Marc Márquez (Team CatalunyaCaixa Repsol), who will start the race from the front row, had his warm up shortened by a technical problem at the start of the session which forced him back into the pits. The Spaniard returned to the track with just over half the session left to lap 12th fastest.
The Moto2 race is scheduled to start at 8.20pm local time on Sunday.
