Simone Corsi and Mattia Pasini look forward to regain positions on the rivals in Texas after round one, that saw mixed fortunes for the Moto2 team, with Simone finishing 6th and Mattia 18th, due to some mistakes and a blistering issue at his rear tyre. Both riders will focus on finding the best set up on the demanding COTA track, in order to recover the gap from the front riders.

“Last year we raced in Austin for the first time, it was a new track and I liked it a lot. We left Qatar with positive feelings. The team is working hard and I look forward to the Texas GP. I’m confident that we can get good results.”

“I’m very excited for the Texas GP. In Qatar we saw that we can be fast: we were able to ride on top in the practices, but we were unlucky in the race. Due to a tyre issue and some mistakes, I lost some important points, but we have the potential to get good results. I’m confident to fight with the front guys in the practices and in the race.”

Bitter qualifying session for NGM Mobile Forward Racing at Brno

Simone Corsi will start from the 15th place; unable to repeat his Indianapolis qualifying result he remains confident for tomorrow’s race. The feeling with his SpeedUp bike is good and the important thing will be to focus on the start of the race. Close to him on the starting grid will be his teammate Mattia Pasini in 16th place. Pasini was delayed during the session due to some problems during the qualifying session. Further down the grid are Alex De Angelis and Ricky Cardús, who will start from the 21st and 25th place respectively on tomorrows starting grid.

Simone Corsi – 15th

“Today things really didn’t go well and we will not be starting tomorrow from the front of the grid. Unfortunately in Moto2 it’s not easy to do a good race when you start the race this far back, it means we will have to do a really good start in order to do as many overtakes as possible. The feeling with the bike is okay and we remain confident for tomorrow’s performance.”

Mattia Pasini – 16th

“I am satisfied with today’s qualifying session but of the place on the grid. We have the potential do so much better. At the very beginning of the session I was between fourth and fifth place. We had a small problem the last time I entered the pits to make some changes making us lose some time, these things do happen in race. I am hopeful for tomorrow’s race, the feeling with the bike is good, we have a good pace and we are ready to do a good race.”

Alex De Angelis – 21st

“We have been struggling a lot to find the feeling with the bike at this track, making it very difficult for us to find the right setting. Tomorrow during the warm up we will try to find the best possible solution for the race. It will be a very complicated race for me tomorrow, I will start at the back of the grid but I will still fight for it.”

Ricky Cardús – 25th

“I am not very satisfied with my qualifying result even if I have improved during the free practice sessions. I am now closer to my teammates but still far from the front group. I was hoping to find a better setup, I feel very high up on the bike and I don’t seem to find the right feeling to push as I would like to.”

Corsi and De Angelis in the Top 10 at Mugello

The Mugello GP comes to an end with positive results for the NGM Mobile Forward Racing Riders.

Simone Corsi and Alex De Angelis finish the race in the Top10 in seventh and eighth place respectively with their SpeedUp bike in a vey disputed race. Good start for the Spanish rider Ricky Cardús who after a very difficult qualifying session yesterday has managed a nineteenth place.  A complicated beginning of the race for Mattia Pasini who jump-started the race and was penalized with a drive through.

The NGM Mobile Forward Riders finish the home race at Mugello taking many points and will and will stay one more day at the Italian track for an official day of testing.

Simone Corsi – 7th – 40.04.660

“I am not at all satisfied of the today’s results, we could have done better. I had a good start of the race managing to gain many positions but the front four were already gone and it became complicated to catch up with them. I suffered on the third sector losing four tenths but the feeling with the bike was good. I am sorry for the end of race position I wanted to do better at the home race. Our goal is to be in the top positions and for that we have to work more and take full advantage of tomorrow’s test day to find the right solutions.”   

Alex De Angelis – 8th – 40.04.786

“We could have done better but it was a good race. The battle with Simone Corsi definitely made me lose some positions and at the very end stuck in traffic in the group in which we were both in and found myself having to fight again to regain positions. Its a real shame because my race pace was good, my lap times are 1´53s, very close to the lap times of the head of the race. Overall it was a positive race, the best so far this season and the gap at the end of the race is the best one so far. I take this as the restart of the season with this new chassis. I am only sorry that I wasn’t able to do a bit better.” 

Ricky Cardús – 19th – 40.36.087

“I started the race very concentrated, I really wanted to have a good start after all the difficulties that we have encountered during the weekend but it was complicated to be fast after al the problems we have had. It is a track that I really enjoy but I was not able to do good lap times. I made a good start but was held back battling in the first corners going on the gravel and making it difficult to get a good pace. Knowing that the race was over for me I focused on gaining confidence with the bike. We have a testing program for tomorrow in which we will be trying several modifications that we hope will help us at the Montmelo GP. I have to regain the concentration in order to be fast with this bike.” 

Mattia Pasini – 25th – 41.05.837

“I am disappointed, after the Le Mans GP and Friday’s positive start I was expecting to do better for our home race.  Today I have paid a high price for a little mistake at the start of the race and after yesterday’s two crashes I lost a bit of feeling with the bike. Fortunately tomorrow we test: we have an important day ahead of us, we have to go over everything we have done this weekend in order to be competitive at Barcelona. The Spaniards have won in our territory and it will be our turn to do the same in their territory at the next GP.”

NGM Mobile Forward Racing riders await the fourth round at Le Mans

The fourth round of the season will take place onFrench soil at the Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans thisnext weekend.

Colin Edwards is no stranger to the podium at Le Mans;both in 2005 and 2008 he finished in third place. The American rider enjoysriding at Le Mans and looks forward to riding on his FTR-Kawasaki bike thisweekend. Teammate Claudio Corti also knows what it feels like to be on thepodium here. The Italian rider had a podium finish last year while riding inthe Moto2 category and would like to take his first MotoGP points at the thisvery same track.     

In Moto2, our NGM riders Simone Corsi, Alex DeAngelis and Mattia Pasini have previously been on the podium at Le Mans, all ofthem managing a third place in 2010, 2007 and 2008 respectively. All threeItalians are eager to repeat their results at Le Mans. Their Spanish teammateRicky Cardús was unable to finish the race in his previous visits to Le Mansbut hopes that this year will be the turning point for him at the French track.

“Looking forward to Le Mans, I can’t say Jerezwas perfect but we at least got on the score board and looking to build on thatmomentum. We have a few new things that we want to try with FTR. Le Mans is atrack that for some reason I have always gone good at so lets get rolling!”

“During the two-day test we found a few thingsthat work well, allowing us to have a faster pace and allowing me to ride thebike a little better. Le Mans is a track at which I was able to come in secondlast year in rain conditions so I have good memories there. Its probably notone of my favorite tracks but I enjoy riding there and the warmth of the Frenchfans. Look forward to being out on track there.”

“After this last race I expect to dobetter at Le Mans. We have definitely struggled at Jerez but knowing that LeMans is a completely different track we hope to do better. We had a two-daytest at Estoril after Jerez that has allowed us to come up with new solutionsfor our bike. I have high expectations for this race.”

“TheGrand Prix of Le Mans has always been on the most difficult ones giving itsweather conditions. The cold and the rain are recurring visitors at this track.We will start the weekend with a different setting that we tested last week onat Estoril and that we hope will be convenient for the French circuit.”

Bitter Jerez race for the NGM Mobile Forward Racing Moto2 riders

The Jerez Grand Prix of Spain at the Circuito de Jerez comes to an end for the NGM Mobile Forward Racing riders and their SpeedUp bike.

Simone Corsi, slowed down due to the grip problems of the rear tire, managing to arrive in fourteenth position. Right behind him were Alex De Angelis and Mattia Pasini, unable to repeat their Austin race performance and finishing in today’s race in fifteenth and sixteenth position. Closing the forward ranking today was Ricky Cardús, who had a lack of feeling with the bike during the Spanish racing weekend.

Difficult race for the NGM Mobile Forward Racing Team, who is now looking forward to the two day testing this upcoming Tuesday and Wednesday at Estoril in order to test new parts before the GP of France at Le Mans.

Simone Corsi – 14th

“I was expecting something more of today’s race. We used a new setting for the race; maybe it was a bit of a gamble with which I was not able to get the right feeling with the bike. Right at the beginning of the race I gained positions but was sliding a lot with the rear tire. I am not happy with today’s results; the gap with the Rabat and the fourteenth place from today is not a position that I want to be in. We have two testing days ahead of us at Estoril where we will continue working. Lets hope that Le Mans will be better for us.”

Alex De Angelis – 15th

“We were able to get one point today. After this morning’s warm up I can honestly say that I would have never imagined being able to get in the points at the end of this race. If we compare the race results to the free practices it was a good result, even if making a good result has a different meaning for me. We were not able to make the comebacks that we have done in past races and I didn’t have the same pace as the top guys. I knew from the IRTA test during preseason that it would be a though race here and I hope that this problems we had this weekend is only due to the type of track. I hope we will be able to be back in the front group where we have already seen we have the potential to be in.”

Mattia Pasini – 16th

“I knew today’s race would be difficult but I was hoping to have a better second half of the race like I did at Austin. I was able to maintain a good pace throughout the race but had a forty seconds gap with the fastest rider, a gap that is close to the one the other SpeedUp bikes have, of thirty-five seconds. We have ended another race and take with us data to analyze that will be useful for the next race. We have the potential to win and we have to take full advantage of it.”

Ricky Cardùs – 21st

“It has been a tough weekend, the toughest so far this season. We knew this track wouldn’t be an easy one for us. My mechanics have worked very hard this weekend and we know that we still have a lot more to do really competitive at all the race tracks. I want to turn a page and think about the up coming race.”

NGM Mobile Forward Racing Team headed to Jerez for first European GP

The third round of the 2013 seasontakes the championship to Jerez de la Frontera the first European race of theseason. The first Spanish race could be the turning point for the team’s CRTriders and a further improvement our riders in the Moto2 category.

Colin Edwards, unable to cross thefinish line in the first two races of the season sees Jerez as the perfectopportunity to show the potential for the FTR-Kawasaki package. His teammateClaudio Corti looks forward to racing at Jerez, a track that he knows betterand allows him to be confident in improving his results. 

In Moto2 Simone Corsi looks forwardto putting up a good fight among the fastest riders. Alex de Angelis wants thefocus on a better performance during qualifying, which seems to be the mainweakness for him and his crew. Mattia Pasini hopes to maintain the momentumfrom Austin and make another step forward and Ricky Cardús looks forward to thefirst Spanish race.

“I am really looking forward toJerez, obviously after our last couple of races it would be nice to get afinish and it has been a race at which I had a podium at before, had some goodmemories there. “We come back to Jerez after two very tough races.We have some data from Jerez because of the test we did during pre season andwith a few more kilometers, a few improvements and an evolution since that lasttest, we can surely hope for slightly better results. “On Sunday we will race at Jerez, a circuit atwhich we have tested a lot during the pre season. I expected something morefrom the first two races, we got only a few points but I am hopeful and remainoptimistic for this next race at Jerez because during the weekend in Texas weproved to be fast during all weekend. We have to work in order to reduce thegap with the front guys. The team is doing a great job!”

“After the comeback during the Texas GP both theteam and I hope that the setup used during the American race can be adapted tothe Jerez circuit. We have to work a lot in order to be ready for thequalifying session, which at the moment seems to be our weak spot, we areworking towards it and look forward to prove it in the near future.”

Texas welcomes Colin Edwards and NGM Mobile Forward Racing teammates

The second race of the season takes NGM Mobile Forward Racing Team to the Circuit Of The Americas (COTA) in Texas. The inaugural GP race in Texas will have a very special connotation for our MotoGP rider Colin Edwards. The American rider, also known as the “Texas Tornado” will be attending his very first home race.

The Moto2 riders look forward to improving their results with their SpeedUp bike from the first season race in Qatar; Simone Corsi is aiming to fight for the podium positions, Alex De Angelis is hoping for a quick adaptation process to be competitive, Mattia Pasini will aim to place better in qualifying to have a good race in Texas and Ricky Cardús is very enthusiastic about this first race at the COTA and show what he is made of.

The Texas Tornado and teammate Claudio Corti are in turn, eager to arrive at the Texan circuit. Both Edwards and Corti will be experiencing the track for the first time with their FTR-Kawasaki as of Friday. Both riders look forward to this second race of the season.

As far as expanding the audience we´ve had one out west side, one on the east side and now we get to have one south. I´ve got a lot of friends, a lot of family coming and I am looking forward to it. “I always look forward to going to a new circuit, its like entering into a brand new playground when you are a little kid. I expect it to be s tought weekend since we have no data on this new track but will the experience adquired in Qatar I go into this race cold headed and confident about the team´s potential and my own.”

"Its hard to make any assesments on how the race will go at Austin, Its a new circuit for all of us but in the past I have always been able to adapt to new tracks rapidly. I will do my best to improve the results from the first race in Qatar.”

First points for the NGM Mobile Forward Racing Team Moto2 in Qatar

The tenth edition of the Qatar GP has come to an end under the floodlight in Qatar where the NGM Mobile Forward Racing Team has taken the first points of the season.

Simone Corsi and Alex De Angelis have both finished within the points with their SpeedUp finishing seventh and eight respectively.

Unfortunately Mattia Pasini and Ricky Cardús were not able to cross the finish line today; Pasini touched with Mike Di Meglio, causing him to crash and a high side stopped Cardús. After a medical checkup at the Circuit Clinic with the assistance of the Clinica Mobile, the possibility of having Cardús sustain fractures after his crash was discarded.

Simone Corsi – 7th 

“We disserved the fourth place after being with the front group. I started the race really well and gained many positions during the start of the race but the front guys were catchable, they had a different pace. The fourth place was within our reach and it was also important for us in terms of the points for the championship. Throughout the weekend I’ve had a problem on my forearm that got accentuated during the last few laps making me unable to push, as I would have wanted. The feeling with the bike for Austin is very good, a new circuit for all of us.”

Alex De Angelis – 8th

“The eighth place is a good placement for being the first race. I struggled a bit with the full tank during the first few laps, making me lose a few positions. I tried my best to remain close to the front group and when the others started having problems with the tires that’s when I decided to attack. I came back and take positions to get close to the fast guys and could have possibly finished the race in a better position. My last lap time was my fastest. We have data to work with, we have to keep working.”

Mattia Pasini – Not Classified

“We had an unfortunate weekend, didn’t achieve what we expected but we have to look think and think towards the upcoming next race. We have to place better in qualifying. We are a very united team and I thank my crew for the work they have done these last few days. We have to hold on tight and think about Austin.”

Ricky Cardùs – Not Classified

“Before my crash I had a good pace and was going really fast. I could have gotten a good result today but I made a mistake and crashed. In this moment I am a bit banged up because of the crash but thankfully the doctors have excluded any possible fractures.”

NGM Forward Racing Ready to Ride at Qatar

The 2013 MotoGP season kicks-off at the Commercialbank Grand Prix of Qatar for the NGM Mobile Forward Racing team.

The MotoGP objectives are clear, have the Colin Edwatds and Claudio Corti to fight among the best CRTs for the first CRT podium of the season with their FTR-Kawasaki bike. The Moto2 objective for Simone Corsi, Alex de Angelis and Mattia Pasini and Ricky Cardús is clear, fight for the title with the SpeedUp factory support.

After a short but intense pre season the six NGM Mobile Forward rides are ready to ride. MotoGP testing will begin Thursday at 19:55 local time, preceded exactly one hour before by Moto2´s first free practice session, followed by the second free practice at 21:50 also for Moto2.

Colin Edwards

“Looking forward to get to this first race with a new package (FTR-Kawasaki) Qatar is always a little bit special to me, being a night race and having had good results here in the past. Looking forward to it, ready to get the year underway.”

“Finally the season begins! We have worked very hard from the very first test to the last one and I can ´t wait to get on track and see where we are at in terms of the other CRTs. NGM Mobile Forward Racing presents their 2013 team in Milan

The NGM Mobile Forward Racing Team presents its  2013 team last night in Milan. The team presented its six riders; Colin Edwards, Claudio Corti in MotoGP and Simone Corsi, Alex De Angelis, Mattia Pasini and Ricky Cardús in Moto2.

Giovanni Cuzari, Forward Racing and Media Action CEO unveiled the 2013 look for both MotoGP and Moto2 bikes alongside title sponsor Stefano Nesi, NGM Mobile CEO. Also present at the event Moto2 constructor SpeedUp Factory CEO Luca Boscoscuro. The riders expressed their eagerness to begin the season and commented on the winter tests at Valencia, Jerez and Sepang.

“The same way that NGM has become famous for having doubled the SIM on the cell phones, we will like to do the same doubling the number of riders in our team! In the case of the CRT the long-term goal is to maintain the visibility on track even in the case of suffering “inconveniences” and creating a team that has an appealing format for a prospect constructor that might eventually become interested. It is obvious that having two riders allows the team to develop the CRT prototypes at a faster pace. In the Moto2 category our expectations are others, we want to see our visibility double, which would be otherwise difficult to do in such a crowded category, where the results are the key factor to visibility. Valentino Rossi will Race on Sic Supermoto Day

Valentino Rossi has already confirmed to participate in the event organized in memory of Marco Simoncelli, from which all proceeds will go to the “Marco Simoncelli Foundation”. Rossi will run in tandem with Frenchman Thierry Van Den Bosch, four-time Supermoto champion.

Double World Superbike champion Max Biaggi, who recently announced his retirement from racing, will also be participate on the event teamed with Adrien Chareyre.

The endurance-style team event will be held over 58 laps on the December 1-2. Practice and qualifying will take place on the Saturday, with the race on Sunday.

Other riders who listed on the entry list are Andrea Dovizioso, Mattia Pasini, Michele Pirro, Simone Corsi, Michele Fabrizio, Danilo Petrucci, Karel Abraham, Luca Scassa and Andrea Iannone.

Michele Pirro Fastest on the Strange FP3 at Sachsenring

Michele Pirro set the fastest lap on the strange FP3 at the sachsenring circuit today 1'30.692. Another CRT Mattia Pasini on second fastet 1'31.659 while Nicky Hayden on third 1'33.132. 

The MotoGP practice was once again unlucky with the weather this morning as they were greeted by rain on what had been a dry track. Less than a handful of riders headed out on the ever-wetter track, yet it took a good 20 minutes for the majority to exit pit-lane on what they perceived to be a fully wet track. However, as the rain stopped and dry patches appeared, most riders pulled back in to the pits, as not an awful lot could be learnt in those conditions.

Last Lap Crashed Ruins a Wonderful Race of Danilo Petrucci

Danilo Petrucci couldn't end the Le Mans race with a good story. An unlucky start for him, his bike was blocked by De Puniet after he crashed. Then Petrucci tried to catch Spies and Abraham, and made his 11th. Pasini was try to take over Petrucci on a few laps before finish line, but denied. Unfortunatelly, Petrucci crashed at the chicane exits.

“I’m very disappointed. We were doing a great race but close to the end I have lost the grip to the rear part of my TR003 and I crashed. I did a good pace that permitted  to me to get the eleventh position, first of CRTs. Unfortunately in the second half of the race I had a problem with my helmet, there were some fog on the visor and I couldn’t see well the track, thats why Pasini and Ellison reached me. I have to say thank you to my team and Iodaracing for the great work that they are doing, the TR003 here was perfect and we have seen the results on track”.

Another Best CRT for Aspar Power Electronic on Le Mans CRT?

Aspar Power Electoric got 2 best CRT awards on Europe race at Jerez and Estoril. The next race will be on Le Mans. Without Colin Edwards, who got the best CRT on Qatar GP, the chance for Aspar Power Electronic is bigger.

Only 2 riders and 2 teams so far on the best CRT. Colin Edwards (NGM Mobile Forward Racing) and Aleix Espargaro (Aspar Power Electronic). Randy De Puniet, Espargaro's teammate was 2 times on 2nd best CRT. After a last Aspar's battle on Estoril, De Puniet told that he hope for a better result.

Michel Pirro from Gresini should be a good competitor, but it looks that his performance on Gresini's CRT was not as expected. Duo Avintia, Yonny Hernandez and Ivan Silva, Danilo Petrucci on Ioda and Mattia Pasini (Speed Master) have not shown good performance. James Ellison also struggle with chatter issue. So the battle left to Aleix Espargaro and Edandy De Puniet.
